Thats what I did but after the "verify email" step it then proceeds to an "add security info" screen that only allows a cell phone number to be entered. The "next" button is greyed out and there is no other option to choose from. I am FORCED to enter a cell phone to get a text code.

OK I figured it out.

The new laptops have a version of Skype thats different from the link you sent. Creating the accounts from your link doesn't require a cell phone so I can just use that to create all the accounts and then have the users log in from their laptops.

NO!!! I spoke too soon!

It seems to be a random screen. The third account I tried to set up gave me the cell phone step!

SOMEBODY HELP!! These have to go out TODAY!

Hi, redscarab!

My name is Didi, a Skype Independent Advisor. What Therese` suggested was exactly how we create a new Microsoft account. If you haven't completed it yet though, I suggest doing it on a browser. I've tried doing that on Microsoft Edge multiple times and I never encountered being asked for a phone number when I chose the email option.
